How to sync ALL of my contacts from Bus.Contact Mgr to my phone?

I have successfully used my Outlook Contacts with my Samsung PDA for two
years. This week I began using Business Contact Manager and moved some of my
Contacts into the Business Contacts section. Now those contacts no longer
show up when I sync my phone. The syncing appears to only read the Contacts
in the main Contact file. I see no place in the syncroniztion software to
tell it to read anthing other than the Contacts file. Suggestions?

Raul, I tried this link before, but when I try to download it to my Samsung
i500, it installs on my PC, but on the phone, it says: Business Contacts CAB
failed to install on your device because the installation file is ont
intended for this device." And it is correct in that my phone is a PDA phone
and not a Pocket PC. It does use Mobile Windows, but is not a full blown
Pocket PC. Any other ideas?

Thanks for your help!

Eray,

I interpret from your comments that your Samsung i500 phone uses the Windows
Smartphone edition vs. the full Pocket PC phone edition. If this is the case,
what you are trying to do is not supported with this BCM add in for the
Pocket PC. Your device will only synch Contacts from the default Outlook
folder.

THP, you are correct on your assumptions. And it appears that you are correct
that there is no sync support for the Samsung i500 phone Windows Smartphone
edition vs. the full Pocket PC phone edition. Oh well, BCM looks good, but I
can't afford not to have my contacts with me on my phone at all times. If you
hear of anything that might work, do tell!

P.S. What confuses me is that the BCM contacts apprear to be listed under my
Contacts folder as a sub folder. Apparently this is only in appearances and
not technically connected.

Eray,

The only direct workaround that I can think of for you is to maintain
duplicate copies of your Business Contacts also in your default Outlook
folder (via drag & drop). The real drag for this though is that you would
have to constantly remember to manually update any changes to both folders
and that could be very tedious. Another option could be for you to get rid
of your Samsung and pop the $$ for a new Pocket PC phone edition device in
order to synch your BC folder. Yet another option would be to dump the use
of BCM altogether and consider one of the following 2 options as an
alternative: www.avidian.com or www.teamscope.com. These last 2
alternatives would allow you to keep using your native Outlook Contacts
folder exclusively to synch with your current device. So, the real question
is, do you change your device or do you change your PC Contact Manager
application?

It's too bad you are forced into this choice.

I just thought of another option that would still involve your getting a
different phone device. If you adopt a Palm OS phone such as the Treo 650
(which I currently use) you can add a 3rd party software that works very
nicely to synch with the BCM Business Contact folder. This app for the Palm
OS device is called "Key Suite" and can be found at www.chapura.com

Best wishes,

Tim, good thoughts. I have been contemplating a new phone, but these are all
good options. I need to do some thinking now that I know there is no real
solution for using my phone and BCM...as you say, too bad we have to make
that choice.
