I am creating an app that needs to work like this...
1) On the PC there is a certain MDB file that needs to be copied to the
palm.
2) So the PC user clicks "File / export" in his software to put the MDB
file in a certain place.
3) Then when we do a hot-sync we need for the file to be copied to the
PocketPC so that it can access the file when disconnected from the PC.

How can I accomplish step #3?

Keith,

You can designate a folder on PC as synchronisation folder and whenever
you do synch via activesync all the files in the folder will be copied
to your PocketPC.

You can read about it more on activesync help. Hotsynch is used with
palm not pocket pc :-)

Ok, my mistake. Hotsync is for Palm and Active Sync is for PocketPC. I
looked on the active sync help and they don't seem to be much help -
probably because they are not programmers. Maybe I am looking in the wrong
spot. Can you be more specific if there is somewhere else I should be
looking?

Place the file in the PC directory and Active Sync will do the rest for
you,
For that From your PC, open Microsoft ActiveSync, choose "Options" from
the tools menu. Ensure the "Files" line is checked. File
Synchronization keeps a directory on your PC and the "My Documents"
directory on your Pocket PC device synchronized.

Hope this helps,
Cheers,
Arun.
