I recently changed the Applications which I want to start at Bootup by
adding some and removing others in the Start| Settings|Taskbar & Start
Menu.

When the PC boots the Apps which I have thus re-arranged appear as
desired but I also now have a Windows Explorer page showing .

How do I stop this Windows Explorer page from running at this point ?

Possibly;

Usually a damaged or otherwise corrupt "Run" key value.

Thanks for the reply but I think I discovered the problem. Explorer
was opening 2 vertcally-tiled windows at Bootup . These had the paths
:-

E:\Utilities\AVG &
E:\Utilities\Shampoo

AVG & Shampoo being an antivirus App and Shampoo an Uninstaller App.

The problem seems to have been caused by my entering the Folders of
these two Apps into the Startup Folder rather than the respective
executive files.

When I put their .exe files into the Startup Folder this cured the
problem as all that now happens at Bootup is that both of these Apps
appear as small icons in the Sys Tray.
