Hello,
I have created a shared folder on my Windows 2000 server.
I would like to restrict users from creating new folders within
the share. When I remove the "create folders/append data"
permission from the shared folder, the users cannot overwrite
existing files with in the folder either. Is there any way that I
can apply this permission to the folder only without effecting
the files within the folder ?

Have you looked at the box above the advanced permissions checkboxes?
I remember one can apply permissions to subfolders only, files only, etc.

Ndi,
I have tried those advanced permission boxes that you
are referring to. I must be doing something wrong.
I can't set a folder to not allow subfolders to be created
and allow files to be overwritten. How is this accomplished ?

Thanks.
