Depending on the mail program you use (I use Pegasus) you may have the
option of deleting the messages directly from the server without
downloading. It's called a selective download.

And if you don't have that option, MailWasher will give it to you.

While I have my AV fully updated, I just wanted to let you know that, set
the selective download Message Rules for my OE6 to delete specific messsages
and I am now down to 1 about every hour. There are some that keep coming in
now and then, but they are worded different from the origianal onslaught,
so, just added new rules for them.

Thanks for the great advice. Not everything is in the hands of the AV Guru's
:-))

I hope that all the people using selective download to delete these
annoying messages are also setting their programs to send a 'reject'
message back to the sender. It may not get back to the originators, but
in case it does, we should bombard them with rejects and see how they
like it.

it will not... sending reject messages will just result in you
participating in a email bombing of an innocent 3rd party...

Very stupid advice! The From: address is falsified to an unsuspecting
user also in the (l)user's address book or other sources of email addresses
in the(l)user's infected computer. By doing this you are becoming part of
the problem.

Just delete it and wait for it to stop.

Hi dadiOH,

Free Magic Mail Monitor is only a 110k exe. DL header data and delete a
100 msgs off the server in seconds.

Maybe this is to be stopped by changing the Imail version number, and reject
all mail with the old version number.
