Been using Spybot and Adaware among others for long time. I have been
getting the box with a name bar "Spybot S&D Resident" saying Spybot reports
you want to download Avenue A on opening Hotmail and other web pages.
Concensus of search is Avenue A is a harmless cookie.

I downloaded the new version of Spybot 1.3 from Patrick Kola's site
yesterday, and now this same box is popping up spontaneously like the
energizer bunny as often as every few seconds. I ran Spybot and Adaware
twice. I excepted Avenue A on the Spybot Cookies and any other tab that
mentioned it in Settings and Tools but the annoying box won't stop.

Is there a way to stop this? Probably removing Spybot S&D would, but that's
not an option.

TIA,

Chad Harris

You should really be asking on a Spybot S&D forum, but...
open Spybot S&D, click on "Tools", click on the "Resident" icon, remove
checkmarks from box marked Resident "SD Helper".
That should do it. Close Spybot S&D

Oops, the "Blind users" version does.... hmmmm, how could you read it if you
are blind???? LOL

Under "Mode" on the toolbar at the top, there is a choice for "Advanced
Mode", select that, and you will be able to access all the settings.
