how to stop send of msg in outlook 2007

I sent a message from Outlook 2007 but it will not go. I tried deleating it
from the outbox but I get an error message that outlook has already started
sending the message. I can't open the message or perform any action on it. As
a result of this, I can't send any other messages.

Click File and check Work Offline. Close and then restart Outlook. Delete
the message. Click File and uncheck Work Offline.
