Hi, when writing email and i type ':)' it converts it to a graphic smile. I
always have to press backspace to convert the smile to ascii. How can i stop
outlook from performing such a conversion?

Thanks :)
pete

This is not caused by Outlook since you are using Word as the e-mail editor.
Either switch to Outlook as the e-mail editor or change the AutoCorrect
option in Word so it doesn't convert it automatically anymore

Which version of Outlook? Do you use Word as your e-mail editor? Or, do
you use Plain Text, Rich Text (RTF), or HTML for your message?

See Outlook Help under "autocorrect".
