Hi there,

problem :

we have LAN with local ip address like 192.168.0.1 to 250. In this network
our router with ip address (192.168.0.101) is also connected to one of the
switch in the same network. Now in TCP/IP property setting if a user gives
this ip address in the default gateway he can browse the internet.

Now, I want to stop the internet access for the clients in such way that if
he has given the default gateway, he shuld not be able to browse.

We are using US Robotics router which is connected tothe network and we have
a DSL line for internet.

Is there any options in US Robotics to stop such browsing.

Regards,

Athar

Hi Jerold,

I go thru the tip 10092 and the related links also to chk what it is. After
checking the stuff, it tell that you need to have windows 2003 server or xp
prof. sp1 to install the GPMC snap-in.

As I am using Windows Adv Server 2000, i also dont have the GPMC. So I
downloaded the snap-in for GPMC from the microsoft website.

When installing on the Windows 2000 Adv server, it is giving me a message as
follows :-

You must me rynning Windows XP SP1 or Windows Server 2003 build 3602 or
later to install Microsoft Group Policy Management Console with SP1 then it
says SETUP FAILED.

Now as I am using Windows Adv server 2000, How should I go thru this tip to
implement it.

Pls help I am stuck up.

Hi Jerold,

I am using Win XP Prof SP2 in the same network and logged in as a normal
user. I installed GPMC snap-in i my pc.
After installing the snap-in i opened the GPMC windows and go to the our
domain listed in there, but there is no "NEW" command showing up on right
clicking the domain as per the TIP 10092 in step 1. I want to attach a video
clip to show what it is showing on my pc. If you can provide your email
address, I can sent it to you to have a look.

I hv emailed the video clip to (e-mail address removed) for your ready reference.

Do I hv to run the GPMC on my pc after logging in as an adminstrator?
