Hi,

Open Registry Editor (Regedit.exe)

Goto this key below:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
In the right-pane, look for the DWord value "NoUpdateCheck"
Set the data to 1. (0x00000001)

Please see Attachment - a .reg file which does the above task.

Questions asked here, answered here :-)

Go to: Start > Settings > Control Panel > click on "Automatic Updates"
Check, "disable automatic updating".
Check here: (Windows Update) http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
And here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/ie6sp1/default.asp
For late-breaking Microsoft updates.

Siljaline,

In IE go to Tools...Internet Options...Advanced tab, Browsing section. Uncheck "Automatically check for Internet Explorer updates", click Apply, click Okay.

Yes Frank. The NoUpdateCheck steps should help. It would be nice if the web
interface (Microsoft one) had the download option. It would be very useful.
