Greetings,
Is there a way to turn off the 'play / flash' option fo ad's in IE6 ?? I
used to be able to left click on the add and turn of the player. That no
longer seems to be an option.
RANT ON:
I spend a lot of time reading documentation and white papers on MS sites ...
recently they've added a "Launch 2005" ad in the left margin that
continually flashes different content. For those that don't know about
migraine headaches ... flashing in the peripheral vision is a major
trigger.
I don't know about most of you but after about 2 or 3 minutes of that durned
thing flashing in the corner of my eye I've got a great start on a migraine
headache.
Ad's in the right margin are normally not a problem since one can usually
narrow the window down enough to hide the ad. I use to denigrate the
'migraine' thing until a neck injury a few years ago. Now I know that
migraines can and do disable a huge number of people regularly.
Unfortunately, more and more actively flashing / playing ad's are appearing
in the left window panel. These cannot be readily hidden.
Advertisers should take note that I (and I expect many other migraine
suffers) avoid sites that use active ad's. I'm really sorry to see that MS
has started to use active content ads.
I really resent being physically attacked by active ad's ... I end up having
to cover them with a post-it note in order to read the actual content of the
page.
RANT OFF:
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks in advance.
