I have ntldr missing. Somewhere I read the solution is to
boot it up with a win98 bootdisk and then type sys c: at
a: prompt. I did this and now at startup I get c: prompt,
but can't find a way to start windows, or even boot from
floppy anymore. And my bios password is different from
what I was told when I bought it... Tough.
I was hoping that winxp had something like win.com that
existed in previous windows where you could start it up
from c:windows
Any help is much appreciated

Greetings --

Why would you even think that using a Win98 boot disk to create a
Win98 boot sector would enable WinXP to boot? You may have just made
it necessary to erase the hard drive and completely reinstall WinXP.
You can try booting from the WinXP installation CD and see if a repair
using the Recovery Console's Fixboot tool is even possible now.
