When Windows XP starts up, it goes to a welcome screen
where the users are listed with a button. There is only
one user (me). How can I skip having to press this
button. I would like Windows to start all the way
without me having to push a button.

Try Control Panel - User Accounts and check the options. Maybe if you have
a password set you could blank it out. Normally if there are several user
accounts you stop and see the page you're talking about to figure who should
logon during bootup.
