How to specify local modem not Communicator to Dial from Outlook

I have Outlook 2007 installed with local TAPI modem configured for outbound
dialing. However, once I installed Communicator 2007 (company mandated)
Outlook really, really, really wants to use Communicator for outbound calls.

Unfortunately, my company has not enabled outbound calling via Communicator
:-(

So, Outlook wants to use Communicator and Communicator has not been enabled
to perform the task.

Is there a setting or registry key somewhere that can tell Outlook to simply
use the locally attached modem? This would seem to be an easy thing to do
(and I'm sure I'm overlooking that easy step).

Thanks

I have the same problem - the only thing I've found, is that closing
(completely exiting) Communicator seems to 're-enable' the TAPI dialer in
Outlook. It seems that Communicator loads a replacement or intercepts the
dialer. I'd prefer an option to select the dialing method.
