How to sort contacts by last name in Vista?

How do I sort contacts by last name instead of the default first name in
Vista? XP has a "sort by" option under the view pulldown, Vista programmers
didn't think this was necessary, or the option is hidden someplace where I
cant find it.
 
That's an Office's Outlook setting and has nothing to do with Vista. Look up
Last Name in OL Help.

Depends - the OP might be using Windows Mail which IS part of Vista - he
didn't tell us...
 
Right click on the columns header bar/select 'more'. Check mark 'last name'.
The column will appear. You can drag it where you want and sort up or down
by clicking on the header.
