How to solve?

Hello all:
My PC's OS is win2000,and I have reinstalled the system for some
days,I find sometimes my mouse doesn't move and the light of dick is bright
for a few minitues,but I don't run other program,even I don't do
anything.who could tell me how to solve it?

You may have a hard drive problem. The system is trying over and over
(you say for minutes) to access the disk, which is why the light stays
on. While this is going on, Win2000 may not be able to do anything else,
including respond to mouse movement, if it is trying and failing to do
something with an important system file. Everything else must wait.

Download and run the manufacturer's disk diagnostic. This is a bootable
diskette image. Observe the results and, if bad, discuss with the
manufacturer's tech support. This whole process is free of charge.

You didn't mention the RAM but less than 256 or so might cause excessive
thrashing (paging) to take place.
