In Access 2000, I would like to remove the Access menu (File, Edit etc) and
toolbar (View, Save icons etc) which appear at the top of the Access screen,
and do this all screens in the application.

I plan to do this in the opening, switchboard, screen in the open event.

I can do it for the active form using Me.menubar = "=1"

How can this be done so that the menubar will stay closed for all subsequent
forms?

Many thanks,
Mike Thomas

Yes, you can do this without any code.

Try downloading the 3rd example at:

http://www.attcanada.net/~kallal.msn/msaccess/DownLoad.htm

(to get in, exit..and re-run holding down the shift key).

Of course, once you set this up, you would create a mde file (this protects
code and forms from being changed). In addition, you would also turn off the
shift-key by-pass. I have a utility that lets you browse to any mdb
file...and set that also. You can find the shift key thing at:

http://www.attcanada.net/~kallal.msn/msaccess/msaccess.html

I'd love to see this example but my company prohibits downloads. Can you post it here ?????

Hum....I can't post it here...but I can email it to you if you wish.

(attachments are not allowed in the newsgroups).

Send a private (personal email) to me...and I will send you the mdb example
as a zip..
