How to shut down a remote computer

How do I shutdown a remote work station? My computer name
is barcode and it is a Windows 2000 SP4. I would like to
shut down the system from a remote location. Please
advise. Thanks!

Is your computer on a network, if so there are 2
softwares that I used that can do you the required job,
shuting your machine from a remote workstation, these 2
softwares are PC Anywhere and the most recent released
software, VNC. This software has to be installed on your
machine and that particular workstation you are shutting
down from, the programme has to be active and running. I
used VNC because it is user friendly and find it more
convenient.After installing this software on the
workstations, just follow the instructions on how to shut
down from a remote workstation.
 
There is a resource kit utility called shutdown.exe that will do this.
