We recently upgraded to Windows XP Home Edition and have
3 users defined. Since each user uses different
programs, I'd like to have different icons and Internet
Explorer favorite places displayed for each person. I've
tried deleting an icon but that seems to affect all
users.

Is this possible with Windows XP? If so, how?

Thanks,
Donna

Donna,

If you launch Windows Explorer and navigate to Documents and Settings, you
will see sub-folders for each of the three users, plus an all users
sub-folder. If you look under each of these user accounts you will see their
start=u[ folders, desktop, etc. You can copy, move and delete your shortcuts
here.

.
I'd like to take this one step further and have a
different Internet Explorer "Home" page for each user.
Can't seem to get it to work -- every time I change in
one workspace, it changes all the Home page settings
across profiles.

Ken,

Thanks for the info. I'll give that a try but before I
do, I have one more question.

Under Documents and Settings, there's a folder for each
user but there's also folders called All Users and
Default User. How are they used? If I make a change to
the individual user folder but not to the All Users
folder, does that mean that it will not take effect? In
other words, does the individual user folder override the
All Users folder?

Thanks,
Donna
