Got problem connecting to another win2k pro PC under my network places.
PC 1 is called "NEO" , PC 2 is called "MISC" Both using win2k pro
When double-click on the other MISC icon, it give incorrect password or
unknown user name for:

\\MISC

Wat's wrong?

Make sure that your user is defined on both computers and have the same
password, or use the "Map network drive" method and select a specific
username and password to use.

If both User are Administrators? As there is a default share drive for the
administrator in win2k, why do I need to enter the user name and password?

Beacuse Machine2 does not know about the accounts at Machine1. So when you
access something on machine2 from machine1, machine2 will only accept users
that it knows about, i.e. users that exist on machine2. This also applies to
groups, so that members of Machine2\Administrators is local to Machine2 and
is in no way related to members of Machine1\Administrators.

It's like saying: "if I have the main key to house1, that does not mean I
can use it to gain entry to house2"

Do I need to create an account for the PC?

No... these are standalone computers right? No domain membership?

Create a user called "test" with password "test" on machine 1
Create a user called "test" with password "test" on machine 2
Create a fileshare on machine2 and give access to the share and files (NTFS)
to user "test"

Logon with user "test" on machine 1

You should now be able to access fiels on machine2
