DEar all,

I need your help on this problem:

I have a Windows XP at home and a Windows 2000 at office.

I want to connect to office from home computer.

So I guess the Windows 2000 at office should be called server and the
Windows Xp at home should be called client.

I don't have any administrative previledges to install any software on
my office computer. And i don't know if our admin has installed the
server software at the office computer. (But I dont' want to upgrade
my office PC to Windows XP, because that lows the performance)

So is there no hope for doing such remote access? Can anybody give me
some instructions if it is possible?

Thanks a lot,

-Walalla

The only way this will work is to install Windows 2000 Server at the
office (Win2K Pro does not support Remote Desktop server).

Other possible solutions involve installing software (VNC, Netmeeting,
or PC Anywhere). You also would need to have your network
administrator forward the appropriate server port to your machine or
enable you to have VPN access.

In other word, you need to talk to your network administrator.
