Hi
I have a HP 7410 printer/scanner, how do I connect it to the company
network, this printer is for only one user.
I think ill need to assign a static IP address. Aftert that do I need
to install driver on user's computer? How do I let computer know the
printer's static IP address?
I lost the instructions book

thanks

I would start by just plugging it into the network and let it get an address
from DCHP. You can then download the driver from
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...us&dlc=en&submit.y=6&submit.x=7&lang=en&cc=us

The driver will ask if the printer is on the network and present you the
option of installing for any of the printers it finds on the network, which
can be specified by name, IP address or mac address as I recall.

Since the 7410 will be used by only one user you may find it more convenient
to install it via USB instead. I did once have the 7410 sitting on my desk
at work start printing test pages followed by a document. It turned out a
user was trying to install a network printer on his desk and picked the
wrong printer...

If you will be using the printer under Vista drop me a private email and
request the patch to fix an issue where the the back side of an
automatically duplexed page is printed upside down.
