How to setup a limited system for public use?

I need to set up a Windows XP system in order to limit it to present a web
page for information search. The target users are the general public and the

host machine is somewhat like an ATM. I'd like to prevent users from
navigating to arbitrary web pages, from accessing the task bar and the Start

menu, from accessing the desktop, from logging off or restarting the
 
check out internet explorer's 'kiosk' mode. start it with -k on the ie
startup command line. there may be some other things that need to be done
also, but the -k starts ie in full screen mode with no tool bars, menus, or
other controls.
 
Hi

IE has a feature known as Kiosk mode. this enables the browser to be full screen and cannot be closed or minimized.

I'd like to thanks Dave and Rajesh by their help to me. The kiosk mode has
worked as I expected (almost).
