I'm trying to find out how to install win2k so that when
new hardware or new features are installed the computer
looks not for the original disc but to a location on the
hard drive. Also do I need to copy the entire disc to
the hard drive or just certain parts of it?

TIA

You can then edit the Reg_Sz string
"SourcePath"="D:\i386"
found at
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup

I'll just add that you should never be prompted for the CD to install a
driver, as these are stored in the driver cache (c:\winnt\driver cache).
