I'd like to set the default folder for saving Outlook 2003 messages to...
k:\data
I saw a TechRepublic article that gave the instructions reproduced below.
The problem is that, when I right click on the Options folder, nothing
happens, i.e., I don't get the menu from which to select String Value, so I
can't insert the new string value. How can I get the menu to appear?
Here are the TechRepublic instructions:
To add your default folder specification to the registry, follow these steps:
On the taskbar, click Start | Run, type regedit in the Run dialog box, and
click OK.
In the registry editor, drill down to this subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Options
Right-click on Options, choose New | String Value, type DefaultPath, and
press [Enter].
Double-click the DefaultPath icon to open the Edit String dialog box.
In the Value Data text box, enter the path to the folder you want to use as
your default for saving e-mails and attachments (Figure A).
Click OK and then close the Registry Editor.
