Hi friends, in my lan I have some pc with win XP pro... when I share a
folder I set on security tab full access (full rights) to the user
"ALL" ... but when I try to access this shared folder on "my networks
place" it always show me a sceen asking a user and password to
authenticate... on others pc it doesn't happen...

Can you help to identify what I'm doing bad? how can I share a folder
that don't ask for authentication on my lan? we use a workgroup, not a
domain...

Either use Simple File Sharing on all PCs, or set up identical
usernames/passwords on the 'host' computer as you use on the 'guest'. Also
make sure you set the share permissions to Everyone=Full Control if you
aren't using simple file sharing.

If you want all other computers to have access to shares, set the XP Pro
machine to use Simple File Sharing. (Control Panel / Folder Options / View
/ Use Simple File Sharing at bottom of options list).
If you only want some workstations to have access, create matching users
and passwords on the host machine.

Hi
All does not mean every one that Wants to connect but rather every one that
has Permission to connect.
