I'm checking out some front ends for IE6, but most hijack
the default browser setting. How do I reset it to IE6?

To reset Internet Explorer settings

You can reset your Internet Explorer settings to their original defaults,
including your home page and search pages, and choice of default browser,
without changing your other browser's settings.

1.. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
2.. Click the Programs tab.
3.. Click the Reset Web Settings button
Thanks,
Uma.

If the browser is hijacked, the first thing to do is run ad-aware scan.
Download Ad-Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com

Then open Internet Explorer, Tools, Options, Programs, "Reset Web Settings"
Also, select "Internet Explorer should check if it is the default browser".
You may want to reset the Toolbar settings as well (if it is a spyware
band). Located in this part of the registry:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
and
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

Delete the Toolbar key.
