If the browser is hijacked, the first thing to do is run ad-aware scan.
Download Ad-Aware from
www.lavasoftusa.com
Then open Internet Explorer, Tools, Options, Programs, "Reset Web Settings"
Also, select "Internet Explorer should check if it is the default browser".
You may want to reset the Toolbar settings as well (if it is a spyware
band). Located in this part of the registry:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
and
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
Delete the Toolbar key.

I'm checking out some front ends for IE6, but most hijack
the default browser setting. How do I reset it to IE6?
