c:\ drive.. is it possible that i can get to the c:\ in
ms-dos? This would help me a great deal, because i made a
bootflop for network all i have to do is make it possible
to see the harddisk.. So please help me out

If the hard drive (C:) is formatted to NTFS, which it sounds like it is,
then no, it's not possible to access the drive from DOS unless you use a 3rd
party driver, of which there are a few, but they're commercial products.

If you absolutely must access the XP drive from a DOS boot floppy, then your
best option is to reformat to FAT32 and reinstall windows. Note that unless
the partition size is less than 32gb, you will not be able to format to
FAT32 from the XP disc. You'd have to use a Win9x boot disk instead.

You can just use the built-in Windows XP "convert" utility to convert the
filesystem to FAT or FAT32. Don't need to reformat.

No, just like WinNT and Win2K, WinXP's Convert.exe utility is a
one-way converter. It can convert a partition only TO NTFS.

Oops! Thanks for the clarification. I just assumed it would work both ways.
