I frequently watch a broadband streaming video site. I'd like to save short
portions of the stream to disc for later viewing. How can I make this happen?
I'm runing W-XP Home, 1.4 Celeron, lots of disk space.
Is additional hardware and/or a third party software package required and if
so, recommendations, please.
Thanks,

Depends on what the video is (file type), and whether the broadcasting
server allows it.

Thanks,
The stream uses Windows Media Player. I do not know how to determine the
file type, name or extension. Others capture the stream and post it on
Youtube, etc, so I'm assuming the server allows it to be done. The server is
aware of the postings. Does this help?

Thanks for the tip about SDP. It apparently does not work with live webcam
feed, however. I'l try again, but I don't have much hope. If I can locate a
contact link, I'll ask directly.
Thanks again,

Thanks, Cari, for your recommendation. I'm afraid it won't work with live
streaming video, since there is no available file to download. Windows Medai
Encoder does work. I got this tip from Graham Hughes, another outstanding
MVP. A great talent and all around good guy.
