How to Save Audio Only as a wma file

I imported a wma file to WMM and edited it as needed. I dragged the sections
I wanted to the timeline, and would like to save it as a wma file. I tried
saving the project as and switching the file as a .wma, but it doesn't let
me. Note: this was purely an audio file; there was no video involved.

My two questions are...

1. Can I save my project as a wma file, and if so, how?

2. What is an easier way to edit wma files (suggest free ware or other
methods)?

Gene here:

OK, I figured it out, but the saved wma file is one large file instead of
individual songs.

How do I save the file so that there are individual songs?
