Bring up another DC before you take the current one down to rebuild it. The
new DC will obtain a copy of all the accounts by the replication process.
Verify that the accounts replicated and that the FSMO roles transferred
over. You should also make the temp DC a GC. You could then take the first
DC down and rebuild it. Promote it and the accounts from the temporary DC
will replicate back over to it. Demote the temp DC and verify that it
transferred the roles back to the original role owner.
