How to save an access database as an MDE file

Can someone please point me to the steps for saving as an
mde file. I believe my vba code has to be password
protected before I do that. How do I do that if it's
needed?

1. Make a backup copy...if you need to make changes later, you must make
them here
2. Tools>>Database Utilities>>Make MDE File Pick location, change file
name and click OK.

This assumes using Access XP, with the database in 2002 format, and your VBA
code successfully compiled.

I've not heard about password protecting the vba code....
