Help. I can "RIP" a track just fine but only need about 20
secs of the whole 5 min song. How do I save just the 20
seconds and make it a file? I want to put just 20 secs on
my slide show in power point. It is in the middle of the
track.
Thanks, denise

You didn't mention what format your audio file is in. I'll assume that
it's mp3 or wav.

You can use the freeware mp3DirectCut to cut off the chunks of the song
you don't need: http://www.uni-frankfurt.de/~pesch/#mp3dc This works on
mp3 files only.

You can also use mp3Trim to do the same thing:
http://www.logiccell.com/~mp3trim/index.htm Also available at that site
is WavTrim, which does the same things, but works on wav files instead of
mp3s. One other nice thing about mp3 and WavTrim is that they require no
install- just download them into a folder and launch!

Hope that helps,
Ian.

.

Open the track and edit it with Cool Edit Pro 2.1, go to
http://www.softpedia.com/public/scripts/downloadhero/11-1-
4-6/ , download and install it. It's a professional audio
editing software, a previous version of Adobe Audition
(Syntrillium is now part of Adobe Systems). Have fun!

Extract a portion of the WAV file using CDex, and then convert it to MP3 or
other format. http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/
