How to run video clip on startup

I'd like to run a video clip at startup, instead of just a
sound.
Ideally, it would be great if media player didn't have to
open (like when there's a startup sound, Windows just
plays it without Media Player) but I assume this is not
possible due to required codecs etc.
What would be the best way? Just copy the video file into
Startup folder? Or is there a better method?

Cheers

Steve

Hi,

See if you want to play something u need an application or utility and that is what Media player is for.

Well you have to create a short cut tot he file and hten drag it into the start up folder and then it plays on start up.

but i advice you not to do this because booting can take a lot of resources and then take a while to settle down. and then adding a video file can hog the resources and even cause ur system to hang.

Well if you have a exact reason for doing this then post it and then we can see what can be done to acheive that.

Thanks for the note.

There's no real special reason for wanting the video to
play, other than the fact I like it!
I understand that an application (Media Player) is
required, but I was kinda wondering if it could do it
without opening Media Player (in the same way that sounds
can be run at startup, without a full load up of a Media
Player window).
Anyway, I'll copy the file into startup folder, and see
how much it drains resources. I've disabled the vast
majority of startup programs in msconfig, so maybe it will
handle the video OK, as there's not too much else going on
in my startup.
