How to roll down a new page

I have a welcome page that show for a instant and then is replaced with the
home page.

It would be nice if the Home page unrolled on top of the welcome page or
slid in from the side like a slide might or the wecome page looked like a
page turning.

I have no idea how such things are accomplished.

Can you give me a place to read up or a sugestion as to what to google?
