Irafanview forgets the volume slider setting the next time I launch it.

How can I make Irfanview remember the volume setting?

Just tried, opened an MP3, changed the volume, closed IrfanView 3.92,
opened it again. The new volume was retained. Haven't tried rebooting
but that would be less of an issue if it didn't retain the volume
setting, because you can set the soundcard's default volume.

Haven't checked with irfanview, but most simple programs that use audio
simply adjust the system's Wave Audio volume with their slider, and
start out with whatever the system's Wave Audio volume comes up as.

Can you re-check this for me please but this time use a video clip
(something like an MPEG or AVI).

I am on XP.

Video starts at 100% of whatever the current sound card setting is.

That explains why my player, Foobar, constantly changes volume after a
restart. Thanks for explaining this. Is there any strategy to avoid this?
