As I understand it, the addresses that appear in the "To:" field do not
come from your contacts, but from the list of people to whom you have
actually sent mail.
So the way to restore the list is to get writing to people!

Yes, Steve, you're right but when I press "To ..." button, I got a message
"The address list could not be displayed. The contact folder associated with
this address cound not be opened... and so on". Then Outlook displays
"Select Name" dialog box with no list of names. To make my contacts appear,
I have to select the second "Contacts" in the "Show names from the".
What should I do to make my contacts appear at ones when I click "To ..."
button?

Those are in the autocomplete cache. This page:
http://www.slipstick.com/problems/nicknamecache.asp tell you where to find
the file that stores the addresses. If by 'moving to another location' you
mean to a new computer, you can move the nickname cache too. Otherwise, it
should not disappear just because you move the pst, unless you make a new
profile.

newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com.

You are now asking two completely different questions.
For the first question, you can easily migrate your autocompletion cache to
a new installation using the instructions in paragraph 5 here:
http://www.ingressor.com/autocompletetips.htm

Your second question has to do with the Outlook Address Book Service which
you either corrupted or failed to configure when you migrated your data.
Follow the instructions here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;287563&Product=ol2002
If you are unable to do so, then you will have to provide precise
information on how you migrated your data so we can tell you how to repair
the damage.
