How to reset registry permissions?

D

DC

Hi all. Does anyone know how to reset the registry permisiioons back
to their default state in WinXP and Win2000? Some people have tampered
with several systems and accidentally changed some of the permissions
within the registry to "read only" and that is effecting the install of
other software.

Thanks,
Dave

Hi,

When you access permissions, go to the advanced area and enable the option
for the child objects to inherent permissions from the parents.

Hi

For Windows XP Pro:

How To Reset Security Settings Back to the Defaults

If you only want to reset the registry permissions,
add this to the secedit command line:

/areas REGKEYS
