If you mean to change the "A", "B", "C" column headers, you
can't.

Tools > Options > GeneralTab > check the box marked "R1C1 reference
style".........that will change columns A, B, C, etc to columns 1, 2, 3,
etc..... other than that, I know of no other way to change them to be
"words" or anything else.

You can put titles that you want to see on row 1
and column A, then hide the column and row headers,
file, page setup, sheet, hide row and column headers
then you can fake the row numbers by placing =ROW()-1 into cell B2,
which might be fine for a report, but it would be a big pain to
maintain as an Excel file.

What is advantage of doing so? Raw and columns are just reference
number for addressing, that is all. No other function is requested.

If you quoted part of the post you are posting a comment/answer to, your
post would be less confusing?
