How to remove winME ? I have installed "clean install" Win 2000 and works fine

I installed succesfully and using it for a few months win2000 pro.
Now I have 1.+ gigabytes used by the old WinME in the computer.
Can I just remove it ? Or should I do some cleaning in the registry?
Or is there a program to do this?
I am running out of space and I need to recover the space used by the
old WinME
