I have WindowsXP Professional installed on my computer. I
do not need or want all of the programs associated with
this windows application. I need to know how to remove
the unwanted components.

The only components you can safely uninstall are those found in
Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components.
All other components are tightly integrated with XP's system files and
are not meant to be removed.

You can do this in the Control Panel > Add or remove Programs >
Add/remove Windows Components.

under Add/Remove programs there is an option for windows components.

BE VERY CAREFUL.

also if you are using SP 1 there is a new feature for removing some windows programs
click on it in the start menu and looks at its features.
Set Program Access and Defaults

once again CAUTION is the main word
