My computer has two copies of windows 2000 installed i.e.
dual booting but both are windows 2000. Could someone tell
me how can I remove an extra copy of Windows 2000 and have
only one correct copy of it.

Hmm...

If you want to disable choice during start of computer - just edit properly
boot.ini

First of all decide what installation you wnat to get rid of. Then edit
boot.ini file found in the root directory.(You will have to chandge to
folder options to make this file visible)
delete the line whick corresponds to the operating you want to remove. Then
delete the folder in which that instance of windows is installed.
