Hello,

I have a problem with Symantec CS 3.0 uninstallation.

Default Symantec unistaller don't work properly, I still get a message that
deinstallation fails or SCS is installed.

How can I remove this product ?

Is there any utility which can automatically remove all files and registry
entries invlved with Symantec CS 3.0 ?

I tried to contact with Symantec directly, but they didn't repond at all.

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Hi Maciej,

Try using the SymNRT program from symantec, this program should remove all
files belonging to symantec/norton products. Download from
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...=es_full&dtype=&prod=&ver=&osv=&osv_lvl=&seg=
Also try the other programs on that page, one should fix any registry
problems.

I had a simular problem when upgrading from Client Security v2 to v3. We
have 20 worksations, 18 worked fine, 2 had major problems. I couldn't
install v3 until I uninstalled v2, v2 wouldn't uninstall proprly, after a
while it wouldn't uninstall/re-install at all, so the workstation was left
unprotected eventually I got in such a pickle I had to wipe and re-install
the entire workstation. Symantec support weren't really helpful, I gave them
the error code and screen shots, and they said they'd never heard of it
before!

Hope it doesn't come to this for you! Good luck

Ben

SymNRT does NOT remove the CS3 files/registry entries - it's designed for
the retail versions of NAV.

If SymNRT works at all with the CS versions, it's more by coincidence than
by design (which could be said for a lot of Norton software!)
