I cannot uninstall a program (WaveRepair) using the Add/Remove Programs
option available, as it tells me there is an "unins000.dat" file which it
needs is not available. It isn't. But even if I remove the necessary files
manually from the Program/WaveRepair folder, then how can I remove the
listing from the Add/Remove Programs listing?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Raymond,

It's easy enough to remove the Add & Remove entry, however that's not a
great idea. The problem is, when you remove a program that way you orphan
the files it placed in the system folder and also all the registry entries
it created. These can possibly cause conflicts with other programs or
processes down the road - possibly not, but if they do later, then you will
have one heck of a time resolving it.

Best thing to do is to reinstall the program over itself to recreate the
missing files, then uninstall it properly. If you really just want to remove
the Add & Remove entry, start/run regedit and delete the corresponding
listing under this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
