I have at least two installations of Win XP Home on my computer with various Windows system files, folders, and components scattered all over the place. My goal is to get this machine cleaned up, therefore increasing its performance and stability. (What a concept). I would like to perform this task in the most efficient and accurate method possible. If it's best to wipe everything out and start over, that would be fine.
You probably have guessed that I am not a computer person, but I am able to follow instructions. (I just need to find the correct ones). I have plenty of blank CDs, a burner, and I also have another computer that I could network with. (If I only knew how). I have been researching the different methods of setting up a peer-to-peer network. I have a DSL line and both computers are connected to the same modem via an ethernet connection. I would like to perform this task correctly and only do it one time, therefore I'm looking for some guidance/support. Are there any takers?
Thanks,
Martin (e-mail address removed)
