Wish to remove Windows Messenger, as well as its icon from the lower right
hand side of my screen (tray ?) and from the start up process altogether.

How do I remove this as well as other programs that I do not use as from
start up which show up in that right hand corner?

Some programs show up and I wish them not to be there unless I manually
activate them.

Others that are there are OK, such as Avast AV(on) icon, WordWeb icon, HP
Printer icon, etc.

I can not locate the folder they are all in together,
(if they are in one separate folder at all?), so I can manage the software
that I wish to start up at start up.

Thanks in advance,
Robert

Click Start - Run and copy/paste the following line then click OK:
rundll32 advpack,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Thank you.

You may also go to System Configuration Utility. Click Start Menu>Run. Type
"msconfig". Go to Startup tab. Un-check the programs you do not want to start
when you start your computer. Click ok. Restart the computer.

When the computer re-starts a message will appear informing you that you've
made changes with System Configuration Utility. Check "do not show again".
Click ok.

That's it!

Thank you.
