How to remove flash plugin from IE v6 ?

I'd like to remove the IE flash plugin without
disabling/removing capability for flash itself from IE version
6. How can this be accomplished? Even though I have "play
videos" UNchecked in advanced settings, it still plays flash.
 
Go to: Tools, Internet Options, Programs, Manage Add-ons

Or pose your question in the Internet Explorer group.

You can't en/dis-able individual Flash features like playing video, it
is all or nothing. The "Play videos in web pages" config setting doesn't
apply to Flash but to MS MediaPlayer.
 
Pity you're not using FireFox. Its FlashBlock add-in shuts off Flash
entirely (without uninstallig it) unless you click the Flash item's Play
button. It's the same idea as AddBlock: click Play to see the ad.

Either Spybot or Spyware Guard used to have the ability to turn off Flash
without uninstalling it, but it seems to have disappeared. These two pgms
work with IE in Windows.
