I´m having trouble removing an encryption from a folder.
The problem is that I´ve encrypted the folder while
running Windows Xp, and I decided to reinstall Winsdows
XP, but on another harddisk. So I have two hardisks, and
when I want to acess the encrypted folder, my acess is
denied. So I would aprecciatte if someone would teach me
how to unencrypt the folder, when my access is denied.

Without a backup of the original Encryption Certificate Key, encrypted files
are unrecoverable as they will stay encrypted forever. There is no recovery
method since the encryption algorithm is now completely different with a reinstall
of Windows XP.

See if the following article helps in any way:

Marco;
Do you still have the ORIGINAL installation of Windows XP?
That is what you HAVE to have.
The keys necessary (unless exported) are on thad installation.
They CAN NOT be recreated.
Reinstall the original hard drive and try.

Are you sure it is not an Ownership issue:

If the files are encrypted.
If you did not back-up the encryption key or the Recovery Agent and
are not on a domain, the files are as good as gone.
This must be accomplished while you have access to the files.
If you have not already done so, it is now to late.

If you can restore the original profile (not recreate) you may be able
to recover the data.
Recreating profiles and passwords is irrelevant.
Contact Microsoft if you can restore the profile.

EFS is very good at what it does and there is no back door.
Read and understand these links before using EFS to keep from
permanently losing your data:

the person said that they reinstalled to a different disk,
thus there is a high chance that the keys are still on the
other disk - even if they had installed over the top a hex
dump search could possibly find the keys.
