How to remove dual boot from Vista?

Situation:
I bought a new computer with Vista Home Premium which started to install
itself when I turned on the computer. Due to my interference the
installation was never successfully completed and I used the recovery DVD to
reinstall. This worked, however:
- I have now a dual boot Vista (twice Vista)

Questions:
- How to remove at least the dual boot question?
- Can I safely remove Windows.old directory?

Much obliged

Do you have two entries to the same system or one that works and the other
that doesn't? If two entries that both point to the same system, run
msconfig and go to the boot section and delete one of the entries. You can
also download and install EasyBCD or VistaBootPro and remove the unnecessary
entry.
