Running Windows Vista Business.

How to remove Windows Defender?
It's not on the "Remove Programs" list.

Thanks in advance.

Julian.

Open Control Panel and click the Security icon. Click to open Windows
Defender. Click Tools and then Options. At the bottom, Under Administrator
options, clear the Use Windows Defender check box, and then click Save. If
you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the
password or provide confirmation.

why was it intergrated shouldnt this be a consumer option ive tried defender
it cant stop anything and is utterly worthless. There are free programs that
do what it can do with better results.

not bitching but to intergrate into system with no way to uninstall is a bit
much especially for a second rate program

You may as well disable it, may come a time when you do want to use it again
quickly especially as more and more updates come out for it.

Thanks to Ronnie Vernon, Bill Condie, and Rock for helping me.

I managed to turned it off following Ronnie instructions, I was trying to
complete remove it, as I'm using NOD32 that does not reduce my PC
performance as much as Defender does, but it seems is not easy to
uninstall.

Thanks again,
Julian

Your welcome, glad this got things sorted for you. I agree with you about
Nod32, great program and you never know that it's there.
